BOISE, IDAHO - Albertsons Companies is
expanding its private label offerings and
said it expects to double its rate of Own
Brands innovation in 2018 over 2017.
The Boise-based retailer said it is on
pace to introduce 1,400 new Own Brands
products in 2018. The Own Brands
lineup includes products sold under the
O Organics, Lucerne, Open Nature, Signature, Waterfront Bistro, Value Corner,
Primo Taglio and debi lilly lines.
"We've got a lot in the pipeline -
and we're just getting started," said Geoff
White, president of Albertsons Companies Own Brands. "With our team's
unique insights across the industry, we
can react faster than ever to changing
consumer trends. The result is a rapid
expansion of high-quality products in
every department that are exclusive to
O Organics became
a $1 billion brand
earlier this year.

Albertsons said it already has
introduced nearly 300 new Own Brands
products in 2018, including Open Nature
Scandal-less ice cream, Open Nature
bison top sirloin steak, Open Nature
granola bars, O Organics spinach and
butter lettuce, O Organics sparkling
tea, Signature Select cold brew coffee,
and Signature Select sparkling French
Earlier this year, Albertsons said
its O Organics label became a $1 billion
brand. The line features more than
1,000 products, all of which feature
the U.S.D.A.-certified organic seal. The
company's other billion-dollar brands
include Signature Select, Signature Café
