Coolhaus, Ritz crackers team
up for new ice cream flavor

LOS ANGELES - Premium dessert company
Coolhaus Ice Cream has partnered with
Mondelez International, Inc. to create a
new ice cream flavor: Crackers & Cream.
The limited-edition flavor includes
peanut butter ice cream marbled with a
crispy Ritz crackers swirl.
"I'm so excited to launch our truly
unique collaboration with Ritz crackers,"
said Natasha Case, co-founder and chief

executive officer of Coolhaus Ice Cream.
"It is literally making ice cream history as
Ritz crackers has never been spun into ice
cream like this. The buttery, saltiness of
the crackers goes perfectly with our decadent and creamy peanut butter ice cream."
The flavor is available direct to consumer via Coolhaus' ecommerce platform
and at its shop in Culver City, Calif., for $12

Upton's Naturals debuts vegan soups
CHICAGO - Upton's Naturals is introducing a line of vegan soups made with the brand's
seasoned seitan. The soups provide 6 to 8 grams of plant-based protein and 120 to 160
calories per serving.
Varieties include Chick & Noodle Soup, with thyme, rosemary, carrots, celery,
onion, rotini and pieces of Chick Seitan; Chick Tortilla
Soup, with black beans, white corn and Chick Seitan,
plus lime juice, chili pepper and paprika; and Italian
Wedding Soup, with Italian Seitan, pasta, spinach,
garlic, fennel, thyme and rosemary.
"When creating new products for Upton's
Naturals, we draw inspiration from a variety of places
- our travels, nostalgia, best-sellers in our Chicago
cafe, and in the case of our new soups, from our
employees," said Dan Staackmann, founder of Upton's
Naturals. "During cold Midwestern winters, our team
often adds our seitan to their homemade soups, so
we took that as a cue to try making some of our own
favorite recipes.
"Unlike most options on the market today, our soups don't just happen to be vegan;

Justin's enters
refrigerated bar category

BOULDER, COLO. - Justin's, a subsidiary of
Hormel Foods Corp., is entering the refrigerated bar category with the launch of
Almond Butter Protein Bars.
The bars are available in almond
butter, honey almond butter and dark
chocolate chip almond butter varieties,
each containing 10 grams of plant-based
protein per serving. They contain 40%
less sugar than the leading refrigerated
bar, the company said, and are non-GMO,
gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free.
The almond butter protein bar variety
is made with organic maple syrup, and the
dark chocolate chip and honey varieties
are made with organic honey. They join the
company's existing line of nut butters, nut
butter cups and covered nut snacks.
Justin's Almond Butter Protein bars
are available at Whole Foods Market and
Target stores nationwide. FBN

Hershey introduces
Reese's Snack Cakes
HERSHEY, PA. - The Hershey Co. is introducing
Reese's Snack Cakes, featuring soft-baked
chocolate cake topped with peanut butter
crème and covered in milk chocolate.
The product is launching in
convenience stores nationwide beginning in December
for a suggested retail price of
$1.99 for a two-cake pack.
Hershey is positioning
the product as an indulgent
mid-morning snack based on survey data
indicating 83% of US adults consumed
dessert before noon in the past month.
"We wanted to create the perfect treat
for Reese's fans to satisfy that mid-morning
sweet tooth," said Mike Orr, snacks brand
manager. "We know that sometimes you
just don't want to wait until lunch - that's
how Reese's Snack Cakes were born." FBN
