Ardent Mills expands
regenerative
agriculture program
Ardent Mills LLC, Denver, is launching
an expansion of its regenerative agriculture
program. Partnering with Loveland,
Colo.-based Nutrien Ag Solutions, the
company is targeting the enrollment of
250,000 acres of spring wheat and winter
wheat cropland into the program by the
end of 2022.
Increased organic content in soil,
improved nutrient efficiency and water
infiltration are among the principal
objectives of the program, which currently
operates across 12 projects in 9 geographies
throughout the United States and
Canada, including Alabama, Colorado,
Idaho, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota,
South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Texas and
Saskatchewan.
In addition to measuring outcomes,
the regenerative agriculture program
provides side-by-side quality comparisons
to understand the impact of regenerative
agriculture on wheat quality.
The initiative helps serve Ardent
Global Organics, Ltd., Cambridge, Mass.,
recently introduced clean label peanut
butter chips.
Made with four ingredients, including
organic peanut flour, coconut or cane
sugar, cocoa butter and salt, the inclusion
is free from such food additives as partially
hydrogenated oil, corn syrup solids and
dextrose, according to the company. Made
without soy, dairy or artificial flavors and
preservatives, the vegan-friendly chips are
high in fiber, protein and potassium. They
may be used in baked, room temperature
and cold/frozen applications.

low-FODMAP friendly and has an extra
molasses/fruity taste profile and a lower
glycemic index, said Cathy Fichtner, cocoa
